Just when I thought it was safe to go on a long drive…
So yesterday I was on my way to a job interview in Massachusetts when my car stalled. (Fortunately, I was stopped in traffic at the time.) After I got out of the interview, I noticed that the light on the A/C button was blinking, something I’ve never seen it do before. (The A/C is used for the defroster, which I tend to have on a lot in cold weather to keep the windows unfogged.) I stopped at a rest stop on the way home and, when I got back in the car, I noticed that having the defroster on was causing something to shake badly.
Yeah, not good.
It looks like my car’s air compressor is shot. I think that’s what the owner of the service shop said when I talked to him. I dropped the car off earlier this morning so he could have his people look at it… and he called me later to tell me that it would cost around $1000-1100 to replace.
Yeahhhhhhhhh, not happening this week.
At least the car’s drivable. I just can’t use the defroster or air conditioner.
